Richmond adds former Rutgers lineman

06/22/2010 - Richmond, VA (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Former Rutgers offensive lineman Richard Muldrow has transferred to the University of Richmond and will play for the Spiders this fall.

Muldrow, a 6-foot-6, 285-pound left guard from York, Pa., will have two seasons of eligibility remaining. Ranked in the 2007 high school class as the No. 45 offensive tackle in the nation by Rivals.com, Muldrow played sparingly at Rutgers.

Richmond, though, lost four of its five starting offensive linemen from 2009 to graduation, opening a potential playing opportunity for Muldrow. The Spiders, the 2008 FCS champions, finished 11-2 last season.

"Richard is [a] great addition to the Richmond football family," Richmond first-year coach Latrell Scott said. "We are excited to get him on campus, enrolled in classes and have him meet the team. I look for him to be making immediate contributions to our team this fall."
